Overview

The DBManager software is a framework where you can easily plugin new modules. The intention is to have a set of modules put together to ONE application supporting almost every type of databases and data collections. It is based on the newest .NET technology so it should be very easy for any developer to add new modules.

The advantage of the plugin concept is that you get the same look and feel for all modules. All modules can be switched on/off by your needs to save computer resources (RAM).

FAQ

  • Where do I find the logfiles?

You will find the logfiles within the application data directory: <systemdrive>\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\OK-EDV\DBManager\<versionnumber>\*.log

  • I changed my computer - where do I find the databases?

Default storage area for the database is the application data directory (as for the logfiles). If you used an MS Access database search for *.mdb files. If you used SQLite databases search for *.s3db

  • What does date 01.01.1753 mean?

This is used to indicated a not set (or not initialized) date. Some date userfields were already replaced by a new one containing a checkbox to indicate if the date is valid or not.

  • While the installation the .NET framework is requested even if already installed.

Please check if all needed .NET language packs are also installed - this should solve this issue.

  • What does the ID mean which I see in many dialogs and lists?

The ID is the internal database identifier for the displayed dataset. This makes it sometimes easier for me to analyse problems.

  • Display picture shows wrong images?

Please check if you stored a lowres in the past. If no HI-RES was saved the low-res variant is displayed.
